THE LAND OF ENGLIGHTENED arrives in June in Great Britain! The Sheffield Doc/Fest, one of the world’s leading documentary festivals, will screen our coproduction on the 11th and 15h of June. The film is set in northeastern Afghanistan where nomadic child gangs earn some money with the remnants of the wars. They collect all kinds of metal residues in order to sell them and dig out landmines to hand on their explosive content to children, who work in the mines Lapis Lazuli. Filmed on 16mm footage over a period of seven years this work of belgian director Pieter-Jan De Peu is a blend of documentary observation and fictional narration.
